NCC launches 2005 Carnival with street parade

The National Carnival Commission of Trinidad & Tobago officially launched Carnival 2005 with a street parade in Port-of Spain. The theme for this Carnival is "Cherish We Carnival".

With a two-hour delay in starting time, the wait was worth the while, as this year’s launch proved to be most successful, with the full presence of traditional characters of Carnival. Much to the delight of the eager crowd, Blue Devils, Dames Lorraine, Jab Jabs, Fancy Indians and Midnight Robbers, claimed Abercromby Street together with several steelbands.
