Faye-Ann Lyons takes 3 Cott awards

Former road March Queen Faye-Ann Lyons got an early birthday present on Thursday night, when she copped three awards at the Copyright Organisation of T&T’s sixth annual Music Awards, at Queen’s Hall, St Ann’s.

Her 2003 Road March hit, Display, earned her the titles of “New Songwriter of the Year,” ahead of Troydon Cruickshank (Blazer) and Antiguan Shawn Oshea Ryan (Wanski); “Female Songwriter of the Year,” over parang woman Francisca Allard and soca sensation Destra Garcia; and the coveted “Song of the Year” title, ahead of Ian Wiltshire’s Trini 2 de Bone and Shurwayne Winchester’s D Band Coming.
