1st International Soca Queen competition in 2005

For the first time International Soca Dancing Queen competition will be held. Some of the world's top female dancers are competing for a 75.000TT$ prise. Chief Judge will be Denise Belfon.

There is also a Soca Queen competition for singers. Judging criteria are:
Lyrics - 25 points
Melody - 35
Rendition - 25
Presentation - 5
Costuming - 10
The first NLCB International Soca Queen Competition will have its elimination round of competition (Soca Blowout) on January 21, at the Arima Velodrome, followed by a grand final at Jean Pierre Complex, on Carnival Thursday, February 3. [via Trinidad Guardian]
